Private Lessons

Communication – Our pets can’t understand the words Good or Bad, however, they process our non-verbal cues through our body language. Pets can read mixed messages in our communication style, which is why we train dogs and owners to communicate effectively through body language and non-verbal cues. Our underlying dog training framework focuses on three key principles. These are the foundation blocks of our dog training philosophy, and we prepare both pet and owner to carry these principles into their home environment.

It's also great to have goals when going through training. In addition, certifications are needed if you want your dog to visit hospitals and other facilities, as a therapy dog. This course helps dogs overcome their leash reactivity. It is a very small class size and uses visual barriers to help the dogs adjust to each other. The class is invaluable for helping dogs increase their tolerance of others. Please note that this class is for dogs who are reactive towards other dogs, but not towards humans.

Starting Your Puppy Off Right!

Only call when you're going to praise your dog - don't call your dog and then tell them off, as it means they will be less likely to come back next time you call. Run away a couple of paces then call your dog's name and say 'come' in a friendly, exciting tone - getting down low can also encourage them to come back.

We also offer different programs for specialty training such as handicap assistance, therapy dog, and personal protection training. Bone-A-Fied Friends Forever Pet Services is located in Charles County, Maryland. We offer a variety of dog training classes where we teach both the pet and the owner. Our group classes generally range from four to six weeks, one class per week. We also offer private lessons as well - whether at our facility or in the comfort of your home.

If you haven't taken any kind of training with us, we strongly urge you to have your dog tested. Even if you haven't gone through training here, you can still take the test, in order to see how well your dog performs. By the end of the course, your dog should be able to excel at many foundational behaviors, even under highly challenging circumstances. We offer many class options on weekends and weeknights, across a number of topics.

Our goal is that by the final class, your dog is not fazed by its surroundings, people, or other dogs, and it will be happy entering new environments. Training is provided by Tucker Pup's dog trainers and hosted at The Anti-Cruelty Society's Training Center at 157 W. Free parking is available on Wells Street, just south of Grand Avenue in the Society's parking garage.
